India’s Independence Day — The Way Forward
True Freedom is beyond geography.
“I am full of ambition and hope and charm of life. But I can renounce everything at the time of need.”— Bhagat Singh
“If your blood does not rage, it is water that flows in your vein.” — Chandra Shekhar Azad
“The problem is not the lack of resources or capability, but the lack of will.”- Bal Gangadhar Tilak
“The shots that hit me are the last nails to the coffin of British rule in India.” — Lala Lajpat Rai
Above are a few statements by the true heroes of India’s revolution for freedom. They were the people to whom Freedom mattered more than surviving.
As India celebrates Independence Day, it is imperative to contemplate what did the freedom fighters fight for? Was it just for geography, a piece of land, or much more? We need to question ourselves whether we are fulfilling the vision of those leaders.
Not in the wildest of their dreams would they have thought that decades after freedom, Indians would stay divided based on religions, castes, sex, lands, and so on.
Because we are divided within and have given a place to hatred based on these divisions, the politicians can use it to turn one human against another.
